Hello! I am so excited and grateful to have found Macaroni Kid as the vehicle to publish events for parents and kids in our neighborhood! Macaroni Kid is a national source with thousands of "Publisher Moms" who publish weekly in communities all over the United States. That is awesome because it means that moms and dads (and caregivers) who have relocated to another state or are there to visit, may know about MacKid in their home town and would be looking for our local Macaroni Kid chapter - right here!

That is very exciting to me. Since I can remember (well to be fair, since I had my first kid 8 years ago), I was always looking for kid friendly events in our area and always found myself looking through 11 different newspapers and websites trying to sort out things to do in the South Bay! It turned into a nerdy hobby of mine to always be up to date about what's going on in South San Diego. But I couldn't always make it to 5 awesome events in one day and I felt sad that I had all this information that I had researched - and other moms were probably out there doing the same thing or were wondering what there was to do on the same day!

So, sadly I tried and failed at different things. I made Facebook groups, made a blog, tried to start a print magazine, made another Facebook group, pulled my hair out, felt embarrassed, and defeated...I wanted to change my name and hide for failing so publicly. But then!!!! I learned about Macaroni Kid! Can you tell I've never been anywhere but here? I grew up in Imperial Beach, CA...went to Chula Vista High School...rented my first home in San Ysidro...and I spend all my nerdy outdoorsy free time RIGHT HERE!  So I decided to take over the Chula Vista site from the wonderful East Chula Vista mom who started it, and I've added the cities of Imperial Beach & San Ysidro. 

One way that you can use this resource is to visit the site every day or before the weekend to see what events appear on the home page under "Today's Events". Psst.. you can look ahead too. :)
